Thank you for your support.
We didn't win the race but we offered the voters of
of FL House District 76 a choice.
Now, we should hold the winner to account.
That is the role of a loyal opposition.

Who is Jim Blue?

Jim Blue is an Emmy Award-Winning TV Journalist - News Director, Anchor, and Reporter. He has traveled the world to cover America's servicemen and women. One month after 9/11, Jim boarded an Air Force cargo jet to fly over Afghanistan to report on the opening days of the hunt for Osama Bin Laden. He has covered countless other stories, including hotspots in the Persian Gulf, Rwanda, Sarajevo, the Philippines, and Nepal. The Associated Press recognized Jim as Ohio's Best Anchor and Best Enterprise Reporter. And in 2016, the year Jim retired from journalism, he was the only broadcaster in the Toledo TV market to be nominated for an Emmy Award for Anchoring.

During his journalistic career, Jim remained scrupulously non-partisan while covering four national political conventions and voting in every election for the best candidates regardless of party. 

 

Following his retirement from journalism, Jim joined the Charlotte County Democratic Party. He has worked as  Precinct 34 co-captain, Communications Chair from 2017 - 2020, and as the Democratic Candidate for Florida House District 76 in 2024.

Jim loves to sail his 36-year-old Sabre 34 in Charlotte Harbor. He has participated in the Eyes on Seagrass Survey and is a member of Heal Our Harbor. Jim is a graduate of the University of Illinois, Urbana. He is also a PADI SCUBA diving Instructor and a private pilot. Jim is a licensed amateur radio operator. His call sign is KY4PN.
